Delray offers a wide range of imaging services using some of the latest technology including: - Angiography - Digital Mammography - Nuclear Medicine - Spiral CAT Scan - Ultrasound - X-Ray - 64 Slice Multi-Scanner
Some of the newest treatments include:
64 Slice Multi-Scanner A combination of X-ray and computer technology that allows physicians to view cross-sections, or "slices" of a patient's body and obtain detailed images and data. With this new technology, physicians can directly view the coronary artieries and identify blockages or plaque formations without a cardiac catheterization, which is an invasive procedure.
Full Body Scanning Three non-invasive, high speed CT scans provide a computerized visual journey from your neck to your pelvis -- possibly uncovering asymptomatic, life-threatening diseases that may not be detected by a physician's routine examination. This painless screening requires no preparation; you remain fully clothed, and it usually takes less than an hour.
Body Scanning For healthy patients who may have a family history of diseases such as cancer or heart disease, this screening is not meant for anyone who is undergoing treatment for a serious illness or is experiencing symptoms of an illness. If you have symptoms, you should contact your physician.
Cardiac Scoring CT For heart and arteries, designed to detect tiny calcified plaque build-up in your coronary arteries to help detect subtle early warning signs of heart disease.
Lung CT For lungs, designed to detect infection or diseases such as emphysema and cancer.
Abdomen and Pelvis CT For liver, kidneys, gallbladder, pancreas, colon, lymph nodes, prostate, uterus, and ovaries designed to detect growths, polyps, benign and cancerous tumors, stones, cysts, aneurysms and atherosclerosis.
Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) UAE is a new approach to the treatment of fibroids. Embolization is a procedure in which a physician injects small particles through a catheter placed in the uterine artery. The particles block the blood supply to the fibroids, resulting in the death of the fibroid tissue. This non-surgical treatment may be effective for the treatment of uterine fibroids and leads to shrinkage of the fibroids and relief of symptoms for many patients, without the need for surgery.
Fibroids are benign tumors of the uterus that are a common cause of heavy menstrual bleeding and pelvic pain and pressure in women. Fibroids often fail to respond to medical therapies and either surgical removal or hysterectomy may be recommended. UAE may help preserve a woman's uterus, maintain her hormonal cycles and may require less recovery time than traditional hysterectomy surgery
