Urology disorders can seriously impact quality of life. Too many people put off seeking diagnosis and treatment, and continue to live with fear and discomfort.   Delray may be able to help.

Using a multidisciplinary approach, we offer comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment of urologic disorders in men and women. From prostate cancer and incontinence to kidney stones, we take an individualized treatment approach for a wide range of conditions.

Kidney Stones
Surgical removal of kidney stones can be painful and raumatic, often requiring hospitalization.  Extracorpreal Shock Wave Lithotripsy may result in reduced complications, hospital stay, cost and recovery time. Lthotripsy generates low energy shock wave impulses that focus on the stone causing it to break into tiny pieces and pass naturally from the urinary system.

Incontinence
Many factors may lead to the development of incontinence. Women who have had children, or who are going through menopause, may experience incontinence. Men who have had prostate surgery may also be susceptible. Any form of incontinence is restrictive and may interfere with enjoyment and quality of life. Understanding your specific form of incontinence is important in order to identify the appropriate treatment for you.

Prostate Conditions
As men reach middle age, cells within the prostate gland may begin to grow more rapidly, causing the gland to enlarge. The precise cause of this rapid cell growth is still not fully understood, but may lead to more serious conditions including:

.  Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
BPH occurs when an enlarged prostate gland compresses the urethra and blocks normal passage of urine. Though not  life-threatenting, if left untreated BPH may lead to more serious conditions. Delray's urology specialists can perform a simple physical exam and offer several treatments,  including medication and surgery when needed.

.  Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer symptoms may include painful, difficult or frequent urination, interrupted or slow flow of urine, difficulty with erection, painful ejaculation, blood in semen or urine, or pain in the lower back and hips. Prostate cancer may be treatable, and Delray's urology team offers some of the latest treatment options, including radioactive seed implantation.

Other Urological Conditions Include:

  • Kidney, bladder and prostate tumors (benign and malignant)
  • Bladder dysfunction
  • Prostatitis
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Kidney, bladder, urethral stones
  • Genitourinary infections
