Criteria for Admission to Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation
Ability to benefit from a relatively intense level of rehabilitation services.
The intensity level is based on an individual patient's assessed needs and stamina. The intense level of rehabilitation services involves participation of at least 3 hours of therapy per day at a minimum of 5 days per week.
Need for continued close medical supervision by a physician with specialized training or experience in rehabilitation.
24 hour availability of a physician with special training or experience in the field of rehabilitation is required to assess both medical and functional status in order to modify the course of treatment as needed to maximize your ability to participate in the rehabilitation process.
Twenty-four hour rehabilitation nursing is needed. A Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (RN) develops and monitors the nursing plan of care.
At Pinecrest, we utilize an all RN staff with the help of Certified Nursing Assistants to provide you with the best possible care.
A multidisciplinary team provides a coordinated program of care with the prospect of significant practical improvement towards realistic goals.
This team consists of the physician with specialized training in rehabilitation, a rehabilitation nurse, and at a minimum two therapy disciplines (one of which must be physical or occupational therapy) and a social worker/case manager. Other team members that may be involved with your care include Speech Therapy, Psychology, Recreational Therapy, and a Nutritionist.
