Visiting Hours & Guidelines

We understand that when someone you love is in the hospital, you want to be with them as much as possible. Please keep in mind that Delray’s visiting hours are carefully timed for the benefit of the patient and each nursing area. They may be adjusted at the nursing staff’s discretion, depending on the department’s activities and the patient’s need for care and rest.

Visiting hours are specific to each nursing unit and may be subject to change. Find out the current hours by calling our hospital information desk at (561) 498-4440.

In general, visiting hours are:

ICU: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

All other patient care areas: 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Visitor guidelines

  • All visitors must enter the hospital through the main lobby located on the Linton Boulevard side or at the entrance to Pinecrest.
  • Visitors must remain in the main lobby until visiting hours start.
  • Delray Medical Center and Pinecrest Rehabilitation visitors must sign in at the information desk at the main entrance of either area and obtain a guest pass. Passes are dated, and a new pass must be obtained before each visit.
  • Children under 12 are not allowed to visit Delray Medical Center unless special arrangements are made and approved by the department nursing director and/or nursing supervisor. An accompanying adult visitor is responsible for providing proof of the child’s age. Supervised children of all ages can visit Pinecrest Rehabilitation.
  • Smoking is not permitted on hospital grounds.
  • Visitors may be asked to leave the patient’s room when the physician or nurse stops by to administer treatment. There are waiting areas on each floor for visitors.
  • Courtesy phones are located in the main lobby of the hospital.
  • An ATM is located in the main lobby of the hospital.
  • Visitors should check with the patient’s nurse before bringing any food to the hospital.
  • Service animals may accompany a visitor as long as the visit does not disturb other patients or their care in the unit.
  • No more than two visitors at a time may visit a patient. Your cooperation is appreciated.
  • Visits from relatives and friends can play an important part in your recovery. Nevertheless, if you do not want visitors during your stay, please tell your nurse.
