Delray Medical Center Earns Three-Year CARF Accreditation

Delray Beach, Fla. (February 3, 2015) — Delray Medical Center’s Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital receives a three-year accreditation from CARF International for its adult Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. The unit’s specialty stroke and brain injury programs also achieved specialized accreditations.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process. To achieve three-year accreditation, the highest level available, Delray’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit went through a rigorous peer review process. During an on-site visit by a team of surveyors, the rehabilitation team demonstrated their commitment to offering programs and services that are measureable, accountable and of the highest quality.
Delray Medical Center is one of only 12 accredited rehab programs for brain injury and one of only 19 accredited rehab programs for stroke in the state of Florida. The hospital’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit offers specialized, interdisciplinary adult rehabilitation programs that utilize a team approach to care. The hospital’s team of licensed professionals includes: physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech/language pathologists, hand therapists, neuropsychologists, therapeutic recreational therapists, rehabilitation nurses, psychologists, nutritionists and case managers.
