May 13, 2015

Delray Beach, Fla. (May 14, 2015) – Delray Medical Center is now a designated NICHE Hospital. Through NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders), a leading elder care nursing program, Delray is able to offer evidence-based, interdisciplinary approaches that promote better outcomes, positive experiences and improved care for older adults. This allows the hospital staff to better tailor services for patients and their families.

“Our hospital’s commitment and dedication to providing superior care for the older adult population in our community is exemplified by this designation,” commented Mark Bryan, chief executive officer of Delray Medical Center.

As the only hospital in Southern Palm Beach County to receive the NICHE designation, Delray Medical Center is uniquely positioned in its ability to serve the growing older adult and elderly population in the surrounding communities.

“I am very excited to be part of a NICHE designated hospital. The patients at Delray Medical Center will begin to benefit from the ongoing support and changes that impact patients over the age of 65,” remarked Jennifer Chiusano, chief nursing officer of Delray Medical Center, “This includes specific education for our nurses and resources that will allow us to develop plans to further enhance our services for this age group going forward.”
