Prepare For Your Stay

To help you prepare for your rehabilitation stay at Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital, here is information on what to bring with you, how to make calls, receive mail from family and friends and other important information to ensure you are ready to begin rehab.

Visiting hours

Monday – Sunday 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Clothing

You will wear your own clothing at the hospital. It is not necessary to purchase new clothing. Please pack comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Clothing should allow you to exercise with freedom of movement.

Please remember to bring a lightweight jacket, sweatshirt or sweater (zip-up or button-down preferred), shirts, undergarments, shorts or pants, and shoes and socks. Examples of proper footwear include well-fitted shoes with laces or slip-on shoes with backs.

Note: Please do not bring any valuables.

Toiletries

Comb and brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, nailbrush, nail file, razor and shaving cream, makeup kit (if applicable), feminine hygiene products, dentures, glasses and hearing aid(s).

Laundry

Clothes washers and dryers are available for use on the nursing unit free of charge. Patients/families are responsible for their own laundry. (NOTE: Laundering can be incorporated into occupational therapy when deemed appropriate.)

Phones

A phone can be accessed from each patient's bed and you may call anywhere in Delray by dialing "9" first. All toll calls must be placed collect or by utilizing a credit card. Please ask family members to call (561) 495-0400 when they wish to speak to you. Cellular phones may be used in the lobby and in designated waiting areas.

Patient access

To ensure that we have the most current information, please bring all of your insurance cards with you as they are needed at the time of admission to verify your benefits. If you have a living will, please bring in a copy for your medical record so we can meet your requests. You and your family should feel free to come by and discuss any financial matters with the Patient Access Department.

Mail and flowers

Flowers sent by family and friends to make your stay more pleasant will be brought to your room. If the hospital receives mail or flowers after your discharge, they will be sent to your home. Ask your friends and family to address your mail to you by name and room number and then the following address:

We have free Wi-Fi available.

Rules and regulations

  • No alcohol or drugs
  • No smoking allowed on the Pinecrest / Delray Medical Center Campus
  • Medications are dispensed by the nursing staff. No medications may be kept at bedside.
  • Keep quiet. Please be considerate of those in the immediate area. Personal musical devices as well as computers should be played softly and turned off by 10:30 p.m. Earphones are available. Only battery-operated equipment is permitted without inspection by the maintenance department.
  • A copy of the patient's Bill of Rights will be given to you at the time of admission.
