Unlike some other forms of therapy, occupational therapy focuses on returning you to the things the matter to you. In other words, we help people of all ages participate in the things they want and need to do. This might be helping patients regain skills
important to their specific job, or helping older adults experiencing physical or cognitive changes. We don’t ask, “What hurts?” We ask, “What’s important to you?”
What to expect
Occupational therapy will start with an individualized evaluation to help build a rehab plan that’s tailored to your needs. We’ll then start down the road towards accomplishing your goals, working with you in our rehab center, and also providing
you with exercises and other things you can do at home. If we feel adaptive equipment might help with your unique needs, we’ll steer you towards those tools.
