Financial Responsibility

Please be sure to pay any deductibles, co-payments and other charges not covered by your insurance before leaving the hospital. Accepted forms of payment include cash, personal check, electronic fund transfer (EFT), or credit card. You can make payment with a financial counselor in the Registration Department.

Financial Assistance

If you don’t have adequate insurance coverage, there are alternate funding and payment plans offered at Delray. Our hospital staff will work with you to identify the options available based on government and hospital rules and regulations.

Some of those programs include:

  • Medical Eligibility Program (MEP) is a hospital service provided at no cost. You may qualify for government programs that pay for all or part of your hospital and medical expenses. If you are under 21 or over 65 years old, have children in the household, are pregnant, potentially disabled, or have been a victim of crime, you may qualify. Our hospital Patient Advocates will assist you with the application process.
  • Government programs are available, including Medicaid/Medi-Cal, Social Security Disability, Supplemental Security Income, County Indigent, Victims of a Violent Crime Fund Supplemental, or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
  • Charity Care Financial Assistance is available if you don’t have the means to pay for hospital expenses and don’t qualify for any government programs. You may qualify for hospital financial assistance if your household income is below 200 percent of the federal poverty limit. To be considered, you will be required to provide information on your household finances through a confidential application. Documentation will be requested to verify your circumstances in order to determine eligibility. Please contact the Financial Assistance Center at (888) 233-7868, Monday thru Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (PST) for additional information.
  • The Uninsured Discount Program can help you if you lack insurance. Delray’s Patient Advocates will help you understand the rules of eligibility. Contact the Patient Advocate office at (561) 495-3286.
