Delray Medical Receives Healthgrades Awards for Women’s Services

Recognitions demonstrate hospital’s commitment to excellence in providing health services for women

Delray Beach, Fla. (June 25, 2015) – Delray Medical Center is proud to accept the Healthgrades 2015 Women’s Health Excellence Award™ and to Rank Among Top 5% in the Nation for Women’s Health. These recognitions distinguish Delray Medical Center as a top performing hospital in women’s health across the nation.

Healthgrades 2015 Women’s Health Excellence Award recipient hospitals have the potential to save women’s lives. For the report, Healthgrades compared Women’s Health Excellence Award recipients as a group to those hospitals eligible for the award but did not receive it, and found from 2011-2013:

• Women undergoing procedures where complications are the measured outcome at recipient hospitals, have, on average, a 9.6% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital if they are treated at a hospital that received the award.
• Women being treated for mortality based conditions at recipient hospitals have, for in-hospital mortality, on average, a 31.6% lower risk of dying than if treated at a hospital that received the award.
