May 5, 2023

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Delray Medical Center is proud to announce that Dr. Joseph Ricotta has successfully performed his 300th Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) procedure. This significant milestone underscores Dr. Ricotta's expertise and commitment to providing patients with advanced vascular care.

TCAR is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat carotid artery disease, which occurs when plaque buildup narrows the arteries that supply blood to the brain. TCAR allows for a safer and more efficient approach to removing plaque from the carotid artery and restoring normal blood flow to the brain.

Dr. Ricotta, who serves as the National Medical Director of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy for Tenet Healthcare as well as Professor of Surgery and Program Director of the vascular surgery fellowship at Florida Atlantic University School of Medicine, expressed his excitement about the achievement. "Performing 300 successful TCAR procedures is a testament to our team's dedication to providing patients with the latest and most advanced treatment for carotid artery disease. It's an honor to be able to offer this life-saving procedure to those in need."

Dr. Ricotta is a renowned vascular surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in the field. He has consistently been recognized as a National Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.
