Carmen Febo, a surgical coordinator here, was diagnosed two years ago, when she was 45. That's the age it's recommended to get a colonoscopy. Her surgeon, Dr. Leandro Feo, shares a birthday with Carmen.

Her quick action to get screened allowed Dr. Feo to save her life.

That was when Dr. Feo started an innovative treatment called Neoadjuvant therapy.

It’s a combination of therapeutic agents including chemotherapy that is typically administered before surgery.
